Dr. Abdus Salam, a Nobel laureate in Physics is one of the most outstanding scientists of Pakistan. He was awarded honorary doctorate by 26 universities. He was a fellow at St.John's College Cambridge, a fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies at Princeton University, a member of the Royal Society and of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His areas of research were physics of elementary particles and scientific education and science policy.
